Three extracts from tonight’s conversations with my atheist coworkers:
1. The funny thing about the LDS Church is that it claims that discrimination against blacks was never an inspired doctrine, despite it being reiterated over and over in official statements…
But if the problem gets too bad, then it’s “the enemy” interfering instead of God. Hmmmm
Good things happen = God.
Bad things happen = God (it’s a test, y’all!)
REALLY bad things happen = probably not god, probably the devil.
REALLY bad things happen but someone saves the day = God.
REALLY REALLY bad things happen that can’t be solved = definitely the devil.
God creates trials for us to endure, tests to make us “turn to him,” but if the tests are just too great, a little too awful, that’s the Devil’s doing. Or possibly our ancestors? Something about sin in the world and God crying with us? Eating the forbidden fruit? Women are evil? Sexual deviance? Cutting our hair? Eating pork? The devil is summoned by eating bacon?
I forgot what I was talking about.
